Search Engine Marketing

Search Engine Marketing or SEM is a form of internet marketing that is aimed at increasing the visibility of a website in search engine results pages (SERPs) either by using search engine optimization (SEO) and/or pay-per-click (PPC) advertising.

While the goal of both approaches can be the same the methods and results are very different.

Example Google Search ResultsSEO is aimed at achieving a higher page rank in the organic search results by creating or rewriting website content with targeted keywords. This approach is valuable and should be the core of any website design; however, it could take weeks and/or months for search engines to index your web page content and for the desired result to be achieved.

PPC on the other hand is paid advertising aimed at directing traffic to your web site by creating ads with targeted keywords (words that people would use to search for your product and services). The placement on the SERP is usually determined by how competitive the keyword(s) are and if you are willing to pay for a highly competitive keyword. The beauty of this type of advertising is that you only pay for the ad if someone "clicks" on it; this is the very essence of target marketing!

Finally, a Web Site Audit gives an in depth analysis of the your website.  We may suggest  running the WSA before launching an SEO campaign to identify problems with your current website and any potential additional costs before entering into a marketing campaign.  Paid website audit reports are typically recommended for Ecommerce websites, Websites with more than 1000 pages, or SEO campaigns targeting 20 keywords or more.
